How to Remove Ink from Jar Lids

I use a permanent marker, like a Sharpie, to label the date and contents on the lid of each jar. It works for my storage pantry but doesn’t look very pretty when giving away jars as gifts. I did a Google search wondering how I could remove ink from jar lids easily and found a really simple solution: Dry Erase Markers.
All you need to do is go over the ink with the dry erase marker and wipe clean. If any ink remains, simply repeat the process until it is gone. Then you can dress your jars up and give them away.

I like using Melaleuca oil on ink and also on adhesive left when peeling off a label. One drop, let it soak in, rub with a soapy paper towel and it’s gone like it was never there.
Have you tried using one of those wiry pad scrubbers?
